    Solar Frontier and Chopro Agree 29MW Megasolar Project with Nagasaki Government

    April 1, 2014 - Solar Frontier and Chopro announced today that they have signed a letter of agreement with the Nagasaki Prefectural Government and the Land Development Public Corporation of Nagasaki Prefecture for a 29MW megasolar power plant on land adjoining Nagasaki Airport, Japan. The agreement, regarding the construction and operation of the solar power plant, was signed on March 31, 2014.

    Scatec Solar Secures Final Approvals to Build 80MW Utah Solar Park

    April 1, 2014 - Today, Scatec Solar received the final approvals necessary to proceed with the building of an 80MW (ac) PV (photovoltaic) solar plant in Iron County, Utah. The Utah Red Hills Renewable Energy Park, set to be built on a site with excellent solar irradiation, will generate around 210 million kilowatt hours (kWh) of electricity per year, which will be fed into the grid under a twenty-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with PacifiCorp. Construction is estimated to start in the third quarter of 2014.

    Canadian Solar Receives CAD$50.5 Million in Financing from Manulife

    April 1, 2014 - Canadian Solar Inc. today announced that The Manufacturer's Life Insurance Company ("Manulife") has agreed to provide approximately C$50.5 million in construction and term financing to Canadian Solar for the Company's Mighty Solar power project located in Ontario, Canada. The Mighty Solar project will be acquired by Concord Green Energy Inc. ("Concord") after Commercial Operation. Bowmont Capital and Advisory acted as the Financial Advisor to Concord.

    San Diego International Airport Partners with Borrego Solar to Install 3.3MW Solar System

    March 31, 2014 - Borrego Solar Systems, Inc. and the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority today announced a partnership to develop a 3.3-megawatt (MW) solar system featuring solar panel arrays on the roof of the newly expanded Terminal 2 West at San Diego International Airport (SDIA) and in a section the Terminal 2 short-term parking lot adjacent to terminal. Borrego Solar will break ground on the project in mid-2014, with an estimated completion date in late 2014.

    Mar. 31, 2014 - Spire Corporation announced today revenues from continuing operations for the year ended December 31, 2013 of $14.6 million, a 34% decrease from $22.1 million in 2012. Net loss for the year ended December 31, 2013 was $8.5 million, or $0.92 per diluted share, compared to a net loss of $1.9 million, or $0.22 per diluted share, for the same period of 2012.

    REC Solar Completes 1MW Solar Array for Vignolo Farms

    March 27, 2014 – REC Solar today announced the completion of a 1MW solar energy system for Vignolo Farms. Located in California's San Joaquin Valley, Vignolo Farms will offset 75 percent of its energy use at its cold storage facility with the four-acre array while significantly reducing its carbon footprint.
