    First Solar and Belectric to Build 46MW Solar Plant in Oxford

    First Solar, Inc. and BELECTRIC today announced that they have broken ground on a new 46MW DC utility-scale power plant in Oxfordshire, Southern England. When completed, the facility will produce 45 million kWh of clean solar electricity per year, sufficient to power approximately 14,000 average homes or approximately 25% of the estimated 55,400 households in the city of Oxford.

    Canadian Solar Wins 114MW of Solar Power Projects In Brazil

    Canadian Solar Inc. today announced that it has won 3 solar PV projects totaling 114MW In Vazante, in the state in Minas Gerais in Brazil. Canadian Solar, in partnership with Solatio, will develop, build and own the solar power plants which, once connected to the grid, will sell the electricity generated to the Agencia Nacional de Energia Eletrica, a Brazilian government entity, under a 20-year Power Purchase Agreement at R$216.12/MWh ($86.42/MWh).

    Advanced Energy Announces Third Quarter Results

    Advanced Energy Industries, Inc. today announced financial results for the third quarter ended September 30, 2014. The company reported third quarter sales of $143.1 million compared with $146.3 million in the second quarter of 2014 and $142.9 million in the third quarter of 2013. Net income was $12.3 million or $0.30 per diluted share. On a non-GAAP basis, net income was $16.9 million or $0.42 per diluted share. A reconciliation of non-GAAP net income and earnings per share is provided in the tables below. The company ended the quarter with $105.8 million in cash and marketable securities, a decrease of $24.4 million over the second quarter of 2014, which included the acquisition of UltraVolt, Inc. in the amount of $30.2 million and the repayment of a credit line in the amount of $4.7 million.
