First Solar to Deliver 48.5MW Manildra Solar Farm in Australia
First Solar, Inc. today announced that financial close has been reached for the Manildra Solar Farm in New South Wales (NSW), Australia. First Solar will deliver the 48.5MW AC project, which will utilize approximately 466,000 First Solar thin-film PV modules and single-axis tracking technology expected to produce more than 120,000MWh of electricity in its first year of operation. The Manildra Solar Farm will take First Solar's installed capacity in Australia to more than 400MW AC when it is complete in 2018. -

Wärtsilä to Build a 15MW Solar PV Plant in Burkina Faso
Wärtsilä will supply a 15MW solar PV power plant to Essakane Solar SAS in Burkina Faso. The solar PV plant will be built next to a 55MW Wärtsilä power plant currently running on heavy fuel oil. The solar PV plant and the engine power plant will be controlled and operated in synchronization. Wärtsilä's scope covers the engineering, procurement & construction (EPC) for the solar PV power plant, including the control system for the hybrid plant. The power plant is scheduled to be operational in late 2017. The order is booked for the first quarter of 2017. -
