    Canadian Solar Completes the Sale of Glenarm Solar Power Plant to DIF

    Canadian Solar Inc. today announced the sale of the 10MW AC Glenarm solar power plant to an affiliate of DIF Infrastructure III. This solar power plant is valued at over C$60 million (US$49 million) and utilizes Canadian Solar's CS6X photovoltaic (PV) modules. The Glenarm plant will sell electricity pursuant to a 20-year Ontario Power Authority feed-in-tariff contract. The project reached commercial operation in November 2014.

    Hanwha Q Cells to Reshape its International Production Setup

    Hanwha Q CELLS announced today that it will launch a program to sharpen the company´s international profile of R&D and production, designed to further improve cost & efficiency and increase the overall competitiveness of the company. As part of the program, Hanwha Q CELLS' German site will cease production as of 1 March 2015. It is intended to transfer the respective production equipment to more cost competitive sites. The production transfer to other sites and the corresponding reshaping is estimated to lead to a reduction of the workforce in Germany by around 550 positions. Around 350 jobs will be maintained at Hanwha Q CELLS in Germany.

    Welspun Renewables Signs 100MW Solar MoU in Andhra Pradesh

    Welspun Renewables has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for setting up 100.1MW solar PV project in Andhra Pradesh. Cumulative investment of INR 700 crores would be made to commission this project.

    RES Group Completes its First Solar Park in the UK

    RES has started 2015 by celebrating the completion of its first solar farm in the UK. Four Burrows Solar Farm near Truro, Cornwall, became fully operational on Monday 12 January following a six month construction period with EPC contractor Oskomera, culminating in the successful commissioning of the project.

    J.v.G. Thoma to De­liver 70MW Module Production Line in Brazil

    J.v.G. Thoma GmbH – Desert Solar Systems, and Renovasol from Brazil have entered into an agreement for a long term partnership for the Brazilian market. In a first step Thoma will deliver a turnkey production line with 70MW capacity and one year later it is intended to install another 70MW capacity production line.

    Hanwha Q CELLS Japan Puts 24MW PV Power Plant

    Hanwha Q CELLS Japan today announced the completion and grid connection of the 24MW "Hanwha Solar Power Kitsuki" PV power plant in Kitsuki, Oita prefecture in south-western Japan. The ground-mounted power plant consists of nearly 100,000 high quality Q.PRO-G3 solar panels and will generate an estimated 24,000MWh of clean energy per year – enough to power more than 7,000 local households. Hanwha Q CELLS Japan has succeeded in installing the nearly 100,000 Q CELLS photovoltaic modules on a 300,000m² site using a construction method for mountain slopes by utilizing geographical features.

    SPI Announces Agreement to Acquire 4.3MW Solar PV Projects in Italy

    Solar Power, Inc. today announced that SPI, together with SPI China (HK) Limited, has entered into a stock purchase agreement with CECEP Solar Energy Hong Kong Co., Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of CECEP, to acquire 4.3MW of photovoltaic projects in Italy.
