    Greek Subsidiary of Phoenix Solar Realizes PV Power Plants in the MW Range

    Phoenix Solar E.P.E., the Greek subsidiary of Phoenix Solar AG reports success in realising ground-mounted photovoltaic power plants in Greece. The Phoenix Solar E.P.E. team has already installed a peak power of more than 8 megawatts (MWp) this year. Last week General Manager Dr Christos Protogeropoulos signed another two contracts of 2MWp each, as well as seven contracts for mid-sized projects totalling 1 megawatt peak.

    Soitec Signs PPA for 44MWp Touwsrivier Solar Power Plant

    Soitec (Euronext) has announced the signature today of a power purchase agreement covering the electricity generated at the Touwsrivier power plant it is to build in South Africa. This signature represents a decisive step for the project submitted by Soitec in connection with the first call for projects from independent power producers (IPPs) launched by the South African Ministry of Energy for which Touwsrivier was pre-selected in December 2011. Following the signature of the power purchase agreement, Soitec will now seek to refinance the project and launch the construction of the power plant.

    Lincoln Renewable Energy Signs Power Sales Contracts for 37.5MW of California Solar Projects

    Lincoln Renewable Energy (LRE) today announced it has entered into 20-year power sales agreements with Southern California Edison (SCE) to deliver electricity from its Marathon (25MW dc) and the neighboring Agincourt (12.5MW dc) solar power plants. Both projects are located in San Bernardino County, Calif., and will go into construction in 2013.

    Welspun Energy to Invest Rs 1,000 Crores for Chhattisgarh's Solar Energy

    Welspun Renewables Energy Ltd (WREL) has inked an MoU with the Govt of Chattisgarh for installing 100MW Solar Power project. Welspun Energy Ltd., through its subsidiary Welspun Renewables Energy Ltd., has signed an MoU for a 100MW capacity Solar Power project. The MoU was signed recently in Raipur. The project is to be commenced in 2015, entailing an estimated investment of Rs.1000 crores. With this project WEL would achieve an annual CO2 emission reduction of 158118 tonnes.

    tenK Energy Selected for 3MW Solar Facility in Massachusetts

    tenK Energy announced today that it has been selected by the Ashburnham Municipal Light Plant (AMLP) to develop a 3MW solar electric facility in Ashburnham, Massachusetts. The ground mounted facility will consist of approximately 16,000 tenKsolar modules, which, when combined with tenKsolar's reflectors, boost energy production by 30% compared to a conventional solar array. The resulting energy will be enough to power over 600 homes.
