Vista Solar installed a 259kW solar system at U.S. Trading Company’s Hayward, California distribution center. The system is estimated to save the company almost $3.5 million in utility costs over the next twenty-five years.

"Solar power is a way we can cut costs and run our business even more efficiently, and Vista Solar gave us a deal that made too much sense to not go solar," said Vince Tov, General Manager. "Thanks to our new system, we now have a hedge against utility rates and have more money that we can reinvest in our employees and our products."

Vista Solar installed Suniva solar panels and an Ecolibrium Echo Foot 2 ballasted racking system to turn a rooftop into an energy-producing asset. The project was completed on-time and on-budget in two short weeks of construction. In the first year of operation, the solar system is expected to produce 398,300 kWh - the equivalent to powering fifty-seven homes for the next twenty-five years.

"We’re proud to help U.S. Trading Company take control of their utility costs with solar power," said Jaymes Callinan, Vice President of Vista Solar. "Their solar system will reduce operational costs not just for today, but for decades to come." Going solar also benefits the environment since much of the energy coming from utilities is derived from fossil fuels. The solar system’s energy will offset almost 600,000 pounds of carbon emissions in the first year alone.
