Clenergy (Xiamen) Energy Investment recently completed the PV project on the China-Xiamen Hi-tech Innovation Center (XMIBI), which is the largest distributed solar project in the province of Fujian. The project sets a positive example for clean energy development in Xiamen and in Fujian.

The total installed capacity of this project is over 1MW. Spread over 23 buildings, the system covers 14,000 square meters of roof area in urban Xiamen. It is estimated that the facility will generate a million kilowatt hours of power annually. Compared to a typical coal-fired power plant, the project will save 370 tons of coal while reducing more than 1,000 tons of carbon emissions and 270 tons of carbon dust per year. Real time remote monitors in three regional power stations monitor generation status.

The energy produced by the project will supply XMIBI’s own power needs, with clean energy pumped into the city grid. This approach will help the city to increase its green power supply while decreasing the usage of fossil fuels, thereby further protecting the environment.
