On August 26th 2021, Sino Soar won the bid of the 12 Islands PV-Diesel-Battery Mini-grid Project in Thaa Atoll Maldives.

This project is SINOSOAR's second mini-grid project in Maldives since the 26 islands project. SINOSOAR finally won the bid in the fierce competition with both domestic and oversea competitors!

ADB and the Government of Maldives are working together to transform the existing energy grids on the archipelago into a hybrid renewable energy system. The Preparing Outer Islands for Sustainable Energy Development Project (POISED) is installing energy management and control systems; energy storage; and improvements in distribution networks, in order to significantly reduce the need for diesel to generate electricity.

The work includes installing equipment for solar diesel hybrid grids on the local Inhabited islands. The project will replace inefficient diesel-based power generation grids on the islands with hybrid systems of both renewable energy and diesel in order to reduce the cost of electricity and the emissions created, as well as lower the subsidy burden on the government budget.

SINOSOAR's main business scope covers R&D, system integration, project development, engineering, procurement, construction, maintenance as well as project financing and investment. Relying on strong R&D capabilities, sophisticated engineering experts, advanced supply chain and rich experiences in resources integration, SINOSOAR provides customized turnkey solutions for solar hybrid and off-grid projects all over the world.

The development strategy of SINOSOAR is to expand our business chains upstream and downstream (including financing & investment) during the implementation of solar hybrid and off-grid projects. Our aim is to supply clean and sustainable power to industrial and individual users at isolated islands and remote undeveloped areas from pole to pole.
